The One Security Training Program

Regulations and Licensing

Security companies in Oregon operate within a regulated environment. The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) oversees the licensing and training of private security professionals in the state. Security officers must undergo background checks, complete state-mandated training programs, and meet specific requirements to obtain their licenses.

This regulatory framework ensures that individuals working in the security industry are qualified, trained, and equipped to fulfill their responsibilities.

In addition, One Security puts all guards through a rigorous training program to ensure all guards are prepared to meet the needs of our clients.

CPR, First Aid, AED, and Naloxone

One Security offers comprehensive Naloxone, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications to all employees. These vital skills ensure our team is well-prepared to respond to emergencies, demonstrating our commitment to safety and well-being. Our mobile patrol vehicles carry emergency response kits which include first aid supplies, naloxone, and vehicle flares.

Site Training

All security guards take a rigorous multi-day training that utilizes on-site shadowing with experienced guards, coursework on client reporting, and practice with topics such as ‘verbal judo’, ‘trauma-informed care’, and ‘conflict de-escalation’. One Security mobile patrol and posted security guards are expected to work to cooperatively problem solve with individuals, rather than relying on perceived authority. Our security guards receive continued training and check-ins to ensure they are operating to meet our client’s security needs.

Community Outreach

All mobile patrol vehicles are stocked with water, protein bars, and flyers for local community resources. Our security officers are trained to take a trauma-informed approach with every interaction.
